Elias Ure is a composer based in Los Angeles, California. He’s a graduate of California Institute of the Arts (CalArts ‘21), where he earned a BFA in composition from the Herb Alpert School of Music, with an emphasis in film scoring. He recently scored HUZ: Drawn to Life, the latest documentary by Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated filmmaker/producer/Disney Legend Don Hahn, now streaming on Disney+. The film intimately traces the life and career of veteran Disney animator Ron Husband — a story shaped by faith, perseverance, and mentorship.

Having grown up around the animation industry, he developed an early and instinctive connection to storytelling through sound. His music journey started at age eight, taking weekly drum lessons with renowned jazz drummer and educator, Jason Harnell, who remains a significant mentor to Ure. Composition was less of a pursuit and more of a natural language. A versatile and emerging composer, Ure crafts music that's emotionally driven and narratively focused, with a deep love for story and a keen ear for detail. Whether scoring intimate or expansive sequences, Ure draws inspiration from a lifelong immersion in visual media, and his intuitive work seeks to deepen story and elevate character across all genres.
